What is Prosthetic Nail?<\/strong><\/p>

Prosthetic Nail is not a nail that is mounted externally, but an application that elongates the nail by adding keratin-based extensions to the nail tips.<\/p>

Prosthetic Nail is usually applied in two ways. The first method uses acrylic products, while the second one is the most preferred gel method. In both systems, the application is made in a way to allow air infuse into the matrix layer of the nail.<\/p>

In the acrylic nail method, first the nails are filed and shaped with the application tools if necessary, and then the application is made using the acrylic adhesive and acrylic powder.<\/p>

The gel method is applied by letting air infuse into the matrix layer of the nail. After a prosthesis is mounted at the nail tip, the nail is shaped by filling it with a few layers of gel material.<\/p>

Prosthetic Nail Application is not advised for those who have issues with their nails or nail skin (fungal infection, eczema, etc.).<\/p>

How Often Should Prosthetic Nail Care Be Performed?<\/strong><\/p>

You may use your prosthetic nail for a life time as long as you have regular care performed every 3 weeks – 1 month.<\/p>
